Halloween 2009

We'll start with the pumpkin we 'carved'.  Shelby had a blast, but of course then she didn't want her picture taken with it, so here's the best we could do...
(maybe she wasn't cooperative because she was coming down with swine flu?)

Posing with Dad before Trick-or-Treating
(love the halloween 'do dad!)

Shelby in action
(her first year actually trick-or-treating)
She loved this... and did a great job.  She said 'trick-or-treat' at each house and thank you to each one as well... I was thoroughly impressed.  As you can imagine she was not shy at all!

Crazy Hair Day 2009

Maybe I need to rename this blog 'Crazy Hair Day'... all those holidays and other cool events are awesome, but for some reason when Crazy Hair Day rolls around I start thinking 'photos for the blog'. At least maybe we'll have a Crazy Hair Day biography for Shelby when she's grown.

Here's the 2009 installment of Crazy Hair Day pics... I hope you enjoy them half as much as Shelby and I did.

Also, amazingly, Shelby's hair managed to stay fixed all day long. I'm sure she had a really quality nap at school with that 'do'.

Enjoy!

I'm sorry... I just have to say 'How Cute?'
Here's the back view
I had to have a little Photoshop fun...

White Buffalo 5K Stampede 10/3/2009

For those of you that don't know (and I'm sure that there are very few that don't), I decided I wanted to see what it would be like to be a "runner" and started training for a 5K in August.

I followed the 'Couch to 5K' training plan and I have to say that I would like to meet someone who is truly a couch potato and find out if they died during training...

I ran one in Colorado City the week before the one in Snyder and then one in Abilene 2 weeks later. Somehow the one in C-City, I manged a time of 31:47, Snyder was 33:09 and Abilene was 33:58. Either they weren't consistently timed/measured, or I got worse each time.

On a final note, if you'll look at the picture closely I'd like to point out that what you see is not a smile but a grimace on my face. The only thing I enjoyed was seeing Mat and Shelby at the finish line having Shelby cheer for me and I have to be honest, it brought a tear to my eye to know my family supports me even when it is clearly obvious that I AM NOT A RUNNER.
